The idea of having a platform where you can sell or buy stuff was muted by members and the DEKA Soko was formed as a WhatsApp forum. Members asking investment questions and/or getting responses to market trends of various investment opportunities is one that has been largely beneficial to our DEKA community through DEKA SOKO. Moderated by its Admins – Dixon Kibengo and Patrick Rakiro – the discourse has been helpful to members. This platform has seen a good number of our members get involved in various business opportunities, buy properties together, and even invest in money markets such as CIC, Old Mutual, etc. We have training on Financial Literacy and the Standard Investment Bank Manx X portfolio. This has seen our members gaining passive income on their investments while we work abroad.
Equally the platform has promoted the Chama concept (Merry-go Round) which has not only strengthened the bond of our people but has promoted collaboration, trust, and financial freedom of our members. Depending on your saving abilities, we have various groups for 10k, 20k, 30k,50k, 100k even 200k per month chamas among our members. Those have seen a good number of our members start to do mega development projects back home such as buying land and even building their homes.
We continue to promote business interactions between our members, sharing emerging trends of investment and even warning members of bad investments through the platform.
